Tonight was an incredible night celebrating International Women’s Day. The Toronto Women’s Bookstore, Good For Her, Come as you Are, ACAS, The Centre for Women and Trans People at York, Supporting our Youth, WCREC and Xtra all participated in bringing an amazing show to Goodhandy’s – “Browngirlworld 7” – the 7^th edition of a night celebrating feminism, diversity, and just plain positive energy.

The feature entertainer of the evening was flown in from LA, and her name is D’Lo. D’Lo is a hiphop/spoken word artist and her one hour set was received with much love. She is a poignant and hilarious and intelligent and wonderful individual.

Warming the audience up was “brilliant rising star” spoken word artist Annanda deSilva, burlesque artist CoCo LaCreme, and drag king superstar and T-boy Milo DeMilo.

MC and host for the night was Leah Lakshmi Peipzna-Samarasinha, an artist in her own rights, and a writer from Xtra! Magazine and numerous other sources. Todd loved her tiara.

The after party was DJ’d by DJ Jola.
